Our elegant stone maison was once part of a thriving mill known as the 'Moulin de Bapaumes,' giving its name to the site now known as 'Bapomme.' Moulin de Bapaumes was a water-driven mill and forge established in the Middle Ages and enlarged in the reign of King Henry IV in the sixteenth-century.

The current eighteenth-century miller's house dominates the waterfall and lock from its graceful podium while keeping watch over La Baïse, the boats and even the Tour de France passing by.

You will find Moulin de Bapaumes at the end of a small country lane on the edge of picturesque Nérac. An officially designed Ville Fleurie (City of Flowers), Nérac, the capital of the Albret region of Gascony, is one of the most beautiful spots in a land of musketeers and mystery, kings and castles in the Southwest of France.

Gascony itself is acclaimed as one of the most beautiful and delightful areas to discover and explore, with delicious regional food, beautiful landscape and more to offer than many of the more well-known destinations. Afterall, "Gascony is the best region in the world, period. The quality of life, the weather, the beauty of the country. People say, 'Oh, Tuscany, Tuscany.' They have never been to Gascony."

This delightful setting will be guaranteed many pages in your book of memories.
